A new prototype of Magic Charger on the road

An astonishing prototype MagSafe charger designed by Apple has apparently found itself on the loose. Posted by a certain @TheBlueMister on Twitter, it takes the form of the circular MagSafe charger as we know it, but attached via a hinge to an aluminum base. The charger can thus tilt to provide a stand on which the iPhone can be positioned horizontally… and only horizontally. Connected to a Mac, an error message appears revealing the name of the accessory: “Apple Magic Charger”.

The impossibility of placing the iPhone vertically is perhaps the limitation that led Apple not to market this prototype, which could still have been interesting if it had been coupled with a specific display for night mode of the always-on screen of the iPhone 14 Pro, not to mention watching videos of course.
