All Africa Music Awards 2022. Moroccan-Canadian Faouzia wins two prizes

Known for hits like Tears of Gold or Mindfields, Moroccan-Canadian singer-songwriter Faouzia won the trophies for Best Female Artist from North Africa and Best African Female Artist from the Diaspora at the AFRIMA Awards, a first for a Moroccan artist, as she wrote on her Instagram account.

Manal was also nominated in the “Artist Of The Year” and “Best Female Artist in Africa Inspirational Music” categories, while Faouzia and Marwa Loud were in the “Best African Act In Diaspora (Female)” category. Moroccan rapper El Grande Toto was featured in the categories of ‘Best Male Artist North Africa’ and ‘Breakout Artist Of The Year’.

Aimed to celebrate Africa, recognize talent and expand the economic frontiers of culture and the creative industry on the continent, AFRIMA’s four-day event hosted performances by popular African musicians such as P -Square and Tiwa Savage from Nigeria, Rokia Kone from Mali and Senegalese singers Youssou N’dour and Baaba Maal.

Other winners include Nigerian singer Burna Boy, who won Artist of the Year and Album of the Year, and Ivorian rapper Didi B, who won Song of the Year. the year for “Tala”.
