Amazon will increase Music Unlimited prices in the US and UK. And in France ?
To say that everything is increasing lately is an understatement. The prices of raw materials are rising, which has direct consequences on the prices of processed products, of course, but also of services. Unfortunately, the IT world is no exception. The giant Amazon for example decided toincrease the prices of its streaming service of music Music Unlimited.
Amazon to raise Music Unlimited prices in US and UK
Service prices Amazon Music Unlimited will thus increase in the United States and the United Kingdom, an increase of $10 to $11 on the other side of the Atlantic and of £10 to £11 across the Channel, from February 21, 2023. offers reserved for students have also seen their prices increase, again by $1 or £1, rising in these two countries from $5 to $6 and from £5 to £6 respectively. The move follows Amazon’s decision last year to raise the price of Music Unlimited for its Prime subscribers from $8 to $9 per month or $79 to $89 per year.
Amazon explained that this price increase was decided to “allow us to offer more content and features”. Last year, AppleMusic and Deezer were also making price increases and in October 2022, the CEO of SpotifyDaniel Ek, announced that a price increase in the United States was also on the horizon for this streaming service.
Music streaming offers fromAmazon rather confusing. Amazon Music Prime is free with a Prime membership, while Music Unlimited is offered either separately or at a discounted rate with Prime. Both offer the same catalog of 100 million songs, but Amazon Unlimited offers higher quality (lossless and spatial audio), as well as the ability to listen to the music offline, enjoy it on multiple devices, access personalized radios and much more.
And in France ?
For the time being, this price increase has not been announced for France, but France having been entitled to the Amazon Prime price increase, there is a good chance that the music streaming offer will be also impacted here. To be continued !
