U.S.-based tech company Apple launched its 2nd-generation HomePod smart speaker on Wednesday, which offers better sound quality, voice automations through the Siri assistant, and a smarter, safer home experience.
The new HomePod offers advanced audio processing and support for audio tracks adapting them to the interior space.
The speaker will also allow users to create smart home automation using the Siri assistant, setting up alerts if smoke or carbon monoxide is detected in the home. HomePod also lets you check the temperature and humidity in a room, all with hands-free technology.
“Leveraging our audio expertise and innovations, the new HomePod delivers rich, deep bass, natural mids, and clear, detailed highs,” said Greg Joswiak, Apple’s senior vice president of worldwide marketing, per way of press release.
“With the popularity of the HomePod mini, we’ve seen growing interest in even more powerful acoustics achievable in a larger HomePod.”
The new HomePod also supports the Matter standard, which allows smart home products to work in various ecosystems for customers who use different brands.
Customers can start ordering the new HomePod online this Wednesday and also through the Apple Store app for $299. The speaker will be available from February 3rd.
