Casablanca: Meeting with David Foenkinos

Wednesday should be held a literary meeting with David Foenkinos at the media library of the French Institute of Casablanca. After studying literature at the Sorbonne and training in jazz, David Foenkinos became a guitar teacher.

After working as a press officer in publishing, he managed to publish “Inversion de l’idiotie”, his first novel, in 2002 at Gallimard. Since then, he has written, with a vengeance, novels, short stories, plays and books for young people, and has been translated into more than 40 languages. The writer is appreciated for his texts inspired by lightness and humor which covers the true and the false. “La Délicatesse”, 2009, brings him consecration.

Thus, he adapted the novel to the cinema with his brother Stéphane in 2011, the year he published “Les Souvenirs”, his most autobiographical book. This novel was adapted for the cinema in 2013 by director Jean-Pierre Rouve with Michel Blanc, Chantal Lauby, Mathieu Spinosi, Annie Cordy and Audrey Lamy. The film exceeds one million admissions in France.
