CHAN in Algeria. CAF examines the case of Morocco

The Organizing Committee of CHAN has decided that Group C, where Morocco is located, will be reduced to three teams only. She also seized the competent judicial body of CAF concerning the absence of Morocco from the competition.

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) announced, in a press release published on January 16that “The TotalEnergies Algeria 2022 African Nations Championship (CHAN) Organizing Committee met today in Algiers in accordance with the competition rules”.

Adding that “CHAN’s Organizing Committee has also seized the competent judicial body of CAF regarding Morocco’s absence from the match scheduled for yesterday in Constantine against Sudan. »

CAF’s decision destroyed the staging and trickery of the host country which announced that on the first day of CHAN 2022 for Group C, Sudan won Morocco 3 against zero. The Algiers regime hoped that CAF would sanction Morocco for declared withdrawal. A ploy that fell through after the CAF press release.

On the other hand, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) announced on Sunday 15 January that it will open an investigation to establish to what extent the political statements issued during the opening ceremony of the African Nations Championship and the behavior of the local players violates the statutes and regulations of CAF and FIFA.

Indeed, the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) had denounced and strongly condemned the “malicious acts” and the “despicable maneuvers” that marked the opening of CHAN in Algeria. The FRMF has sent correspondence to the CAF which is called upon to “assume all responsibility for these flagrant transgressions which have no connection with the principles and values ​​of football”.

During the opening ceremony of CHAN in Algeria, in the presence of FIFA and CAF President Gianni Infantino and Joseph Motsepe, present in the stands alongside Algerian officials, a so-called grandson of Nelson Mandela , Zwelivelile Mandla Mandela, denounced the presence of Morocco in its Sahara.

In the same vein, the FRMF rejected the racist remarks made by supporters present at the opening ceremony towards the Moroccan public known throughout the world for its good citizenship. Videos circulating on social media show Algerian fans chanting racist slogans targeting Moroccans.

The icing on the cake, the Libyan fans were beaten up by the security forces on the stands after the end of the Algeria-Libya opening match, which ended in a fight between the two teams on the lawn because the arrogance of Algerian players.
