Dakhla hosts the Sahraouiya solidarity raid from February 4 to 11, 2023

The city of Dakhla is hosting, from February 4 to 11, 2023, the ninth edition of the Sahraouiya solidarity raid, a solidarity sports challenge for women, with the participation of 50 Moroccan and foreign women’s teams. This event organized by the Lagon Dakhla association promises wonder, solidarity and dedication to the humanitarian cause in an exceptional setting, says an official press release.

This ninth edition will highlight the actions taken to fight against violence against women and children, as part of a campaign on social networks, under the sign of #breakfreewithSahraouiya. This campaign, continues the same source, is an invitation to female emancipation, a message carried by all the participants, all united for the promotion of women’s rights.

This initiative takes on an important aspect with the presence of the godmothers of this edition, namely Rokhaya Diallo, journalist and author, defending the association Excision Parlons-En and Emilie Gomis, the ambassador of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, Olympic vice-champion.

The 9th edition will commemorate the icon of women’s activism in Morocco, Aicha Ech-chenna, who disappeared leaving the torch of the women’s cause to all the women she was able to touch during her exceptional journey.

Sahraouiya carries the torch of solidarity loud and clear and is committed to promoting the social action of the partner SOS Village, which plans to expand its programs and open a new village in Dakhla, in order to welcome children in difficult circumstances. A new challenge to be taken up together for children without parental support in our country, we conclude.
