Death of Queen Elisabeth II: +19% visits to dedicated sites and apps in one day according to the ACPM

On the day of Queen Elisabeth II’s death, more than 87 million visits were recorded by the CMPA on sites and applications in the News & General Information and Society categories.
This event attracted 19% more visits on Thursday September 8 compared to a normal Thursday. The peak in visits to dedicated sites and apps was recorded between 8 p.m. and 9 p.m., with 10 million visits at 8 p.m.

On Friday, September 9, the CMPA also observed an increase of +9% vs. a normal Friday. In total, Thursday 8 and Friday 9 September, 165 million visits were recorded on sites and applications in these same categories.

These are the sites of BFM TV (+40% vs a standard Thursday and +19% vs a standard Friday), France Info (+53% and +9%) and Le Figaro (+12% and +2%) which were the most viewed on those days.

In terms of applications, those of Le Monde (+38% and +10%), France info (+45% and +9%) and Le Figaro (+21% and +9%) are in the lead.
