In a press conference, this Sunday, November 13 in Algiers, on the occasion of the friendly matches of the Fennecs against Mali and Sweden, Djamel Belmadi, Algerian coach, revealed that he will encourage Tunisia, Morocco and Qatar during of the planetary High Mass.
Asked about the team he was going to encourage in the 2022 World Cup, the Algerian coach admitted not without bitterness that he will follow the matches of the World Cup in front of a television screen and that he wished all the happiness to Moroccans, Tunisians and other African countries.
“I will encourage Tunisia and Morocco. Their supporters had supported us a lot in the past. I will also encourage Qatar, the Arab country hosting the 2022 World Cup,” he added.
Dajamel Belmadi did not fail to mention Walid Regragui, coach of the Atlas Lions, who, according to him, is doing good things with the Moroccan national team. “I wish him success with the Atlas Lions at the World Cup in Qatar,” he said.
“We have had good relations for a few years and I am convinced that he will perform well with the Moroccan national team,” he concluded on this subject.
As a reminder, the Algerian selection could not qualify for the 2022 World Cup in the last play-off match where it was eliminated at home by Cameroon. A great controversy had erupted about the arbitration of this meeting.
