UEFA are reportedly working on a brand new format for the European Super Cup which would include the MLS champions according to The Guardian.
A new change could appear in football. After establishing a new reform for the Champions League from 2024, theUEFA is now working on a reform of the European Super Cup. According to the information revealed by The Guardianthe European football institution would like to establish a new format with 4 teams instead of 2 from 2024.
Discussions should take place this Thursday in Istanbul about the European Super Cup at the general meeting of theEuropean Club Association (ECA). This mini tournament would then be composed of the champions league winner, from Europa League winner from winner of the Europa League Conference and MLS champ. It remains to be seen how the discussions will continue, but theUEFA could see a good eye on this project.
