Smartwatches are starting to pack in more features than ever before, but the prices are rising at the same time. Huawei forgets about all that with its latest entry-level watch – the Huawei Watch GT 3 SE. Sitting below the brand’s top-end models, this budget smartwatch packs the flagship features we know and love at a price we love even more.
This watch goes big on display, with a 1.43-inch AMOLED screen. It offers a resolution of 466 x 466 pixels and the whole thing displays only 35.6g light. As a smartwatch, you’ll receive all your notifications via Bluetooth, including phone calls (if you’re still getting them). The Watch GT 3 SE doesn’t have a cellular feature, but we wouldn’t expect that at this price.
With a focus on health and fitness, you’ll find that the Huawei Watch GT 3 SE can keep up with you on the go. It offers over 1000 different workout modes, all tracked by TruSport to monitor all your fitness data. With TruSleep, you can track your sleep stages, snoring, and even sleep talking all night long (just make sure to say nice things). Heart rate tracking is more accurate than ever, ruling out goal tracking, stress monitoring, and menstrual monitoring. Plus, there’s water resistance up to 50m for all the water sports you can shake a pool noodle at.
Battery life will last up to 14 days (or 7 days with heavier use). And when you finally manage to get it to run flat, the watch charges wirelessly. It even supports reverse wireless charging from your smartphone. Speaking of smartphones, the Huawei Watch GT 3 SE is compatible with iOS and Android devices.
Huawei’s top-of-the-line Watch GT 3 Pro scored four out of five stars in our tests. While the performance isn’t quite as strong, at this price point we’d expect a serious return on investment. If the brand’s latest entry-level watch catches your eye, you’ll be able to put one on your wrist soon enough. This Huawei Watch GT 3 SE retails for just €200 and can be ordered directly from Huawei now. It will arrive at retailers over the next few weeks.
