Apple was planning a small revolution when they announced the option of Photo Live for its smart phones (or smartphone) iPhone. This option, enabled by default on all devices running on iOS, saves images a few seconds before and after taking a photo, giving the impression of an animated photo on your phone’s touch screen.

However, not all iPhone or iOS users like Photo Live and permanently deactivating this option on their cell phone is unfortunately not as easy as it should be… But that’s far to be impossible!

This iPhone trick that allows you to permanently disable Photo Live works on the newest devices running iOS as well as on older devices.

But first, what are Photo Live?

The Live Photo or Live Photo feature appeared in 2015 with the iPhone 6S, a more powerful iteration of the iPhone 6 released a year earlier. Since then, Photo Live has been available on all devices from the manufacturer from Cupertino, California, from the iPhone XS to the new iPhone 14 and new iPhone 14 Pro with a new screen. It was a small revolution at the time because you could have an animated photo, a micro video in a way, that you can manipulate at will in the Photos application.

Live Photos allows the user’s iPhone to record what happens 1.5 seconds before as well as 1.5 seconds after a photo is taken. To take a Live Photo, you go about it exactly as you would for a traditional photo. You can then choose a different main photo, add a funny effect or add a message with the virtual keyboard, modify the Live Photo as well as share it with relatives, in particular via the messages application.
