IPIEM: Main points of the HCP note

Here are the main points of the information note from the High Commission for Planning (HCP), relating to the industrial, energy and mining production index (IPIEM), in the 2nd quarter of 2022:

– The production index of the “Manufacturing industries excluding oil refining” sector recorded a 1.8% increaseresulting from the increase in that of:

• The “automotive industry” by 16.8%,

• “food industries” by 8.3%,

• The “manufacture of electrical equipment” by 22.2%,

• The “metallurgy” of 18.5%,

• The “leather and footwear industry” by 23.2%,

• The “textile industry” by 9.7%,

• The “printing and reproduction of recordings” of 25%,

• The “clothing industry” by 2.2%

And of the decline in the index of :

• The “chemical industry” by 7.1%,

• The “manufacture of other non-metallic mineral products” by 7.2%

• “Woodworking” by 2.8%.

– The extractive industries production index recorded a decrease of 15.6%.

– The index of the production of electric energy recorded an increase of 2.1%.
