M. Night Shyamalan: very creepy trailer for his new horror film, Knock at the Cabin

The film director Sixth Sense, Unbreakable, Split or the most recent (but with less rave reviews) Glass and Old will be back in January with a frighteningly plausible horror film.

Knock at the Cabin features a couple of dads and their little girl who spend their holidays in an isolated cabin in the middle of nature. The family is taken hostage by four armed strangers who demand an impossible choice from them in order to avoid the imminence of the apocalypse. While they have practically no means of communication with the rest of the world, they will have to make and assume their decision alone.

Director M. Night Shyamalan films the forest in an unsettling way that suggests danger comes from nature. The invaders come out of the forest to serve their great cause: to avoid the apocalypse.

Where usually the characters who sequester a family are burglars or unhealthy killers, here the director seems to present the oppressors as not carrying out this task with pleasure.

On the casting side, the director will find Rupert Grint (Ron in Harry Potter) already present in his horror series Servant but also David Bautista (Guardians of the Galaxy), Nikki Amuka-Bird (Old), Jonathan Groff (mindhunters) and Ben Aldridge (flea bag).
