Minamino already designated as the flop of the season

Monaco winger, Takumi Minamino, is already labeled as the worst signing of the summer in Ligue 1.

Although a scorer this weekend against Reims, Takumi Minamino, the Japanese rookie of AS Monaco, has the lowest rating at the moment.

The 27-year-old ended his two-and-a-half-year spell at Liverpool this summer by joining Monaco for €17m. Since joining the Rock, Minamino has only been able to honor two starts and he has started on the bench on six occasions.

Even if the season is only at its beginning, some media have already hastened to designate him as the worst “reinforcement” recorded. Le Quotidien Du Sport said the Japan international was the biggest flop of the season.

“We understand why he failed in the Premier League”

To justify their opinion, they wrote: “The Japanese had to speed up the Monaco game and bring movement in attack. In nine games, he played six, and never stayed on the pitch for more than 67 minutes. Replaced or substitute, Minamino seems too frail physically and in difficulty in the intensity of the duels, we understand why he did not win in the Premier League.

The judgment is harsh but Minamino is lucky that he has enough time to reverse the trend and silence his detractors.
