OPCC management companies: consolidated net income maintains its downward trend

The consolidated net income of the management companies of collective investment schemes in capital (OPCC) maintained its downward trend recorded in 2020, with an additional loss of 13.4%, going from 6.23 million dirhams (MDH) of loss to 7.07 MDH in 2021, according to the Moroccan Capital Market Authority (AMMC). This situation is mainly explained by a net loss of more than 7 MDH recorded by five approved management companies which have not yet started their OPCC management activity, notes the AMMC in its annual report under the financial year 2021.

For the consolidated turnover of OPCC management companies, it recorded an increase of 25.28% in 2021 to stand at 53.37 MDH against 42.6 MDH in 2020. Regarding the equity raised by all OPCC management companies, they recorded an increase of 41.31% in 2021 to stand at 38.33 MDH against 27.12 MDH a year earlier, notes the AMMC. At the end of 2021, the total net assets managed by OPCC management companies reached more than 1.398 billion dirhams (MMDH), against more than 1.054 billion dirhams in 2020, thus recording an increase of more than 32%.
