Simona Halep, former world number one, will have to take a few weeks off after undergoing nose surgery, she said on her social networks.
The Romanian, currently ranked ninth in the world, had suffered “for some time” from nose problems which worsened during the summer, making it difficult for her to breathe, especially at night.
“The only way to fix it was to have surgery,” Halep said on Instagram, adding that the surgeon took “this opportunity to do plastic surgery as well.”
