Indie game publisher Thunderful has just announced a merger with the studio JUMPSHIPdad of the very young Somerville which has just arrived in the Game Pass. An acquisition that will leave intact “creative autonomy” from the studio while continuing “to create first-rate narrative games”.
With nearly 25 employees, JUMPSHIP was founded in 2017 by Chris Olsen with ex-CEO and co-founder of Playdead, Dino Patti. Agostino Simonetta, in charge of gaming at Thunderful Games, is delighted with this acquisition of a studio with great potential.
The level of intrigue that JUMPSHIP managed to generate for their first title shows that they are a team with a deep artistic vision. Adding to our roster of already diverse and accomplished talent under the Thunderful Studios umbrella is an important part of our strategy to build strong internal IPs.
