RAM relaunches the Casablanca-Doha direct line in partnership with Qatar Airways

Royal Air Maroc (RAM) announced on Thursday the relaunch from September 12 of its direct air route linking Mohammed V airport in Casablanca and Hamad International airport in Doha (Qatar).

Suspended since March 2020 due to the health crisis, this line will be resumed at the rate of one flight per day, indicates the national company in a press release, adding that the flights will be operated by Boeing 787-9 with a capacity of 302 seats. including 26 in Business class.

The daily flight schedule is as follows (local time): AT216: departure from Mohammed V-Casablanca airport at 2:45 p.m., arrival in Doha at 12:15 a.m.; and AT217: departure from Doha at 02:15, arrival in Casablanca at 08:10.

Qatar Airways and Royal Air Maroc have had a strong partnership since 2015 based on the determination to create a very dense network” , underlines Akbar Al Baker, president of the Qatar Airways group, quoted in the press release.

Doha is firmly positioned as a leading oneworld hub with more partner airlines than ever before, enabling passengers to enjoy global connectivity to more than 150 destinations on Qatar Airways’ global network.”

For his part, Hamid Addou, CEO of RAM insists on “the importance of this strategic partnership which will provide our customers with more connections both to Asian destinations served very smoothly by our partner Qatar Airways, than on the African destinations of our national company”.

Mr. Addou also indicates that “this partnership will make it possible to offer additional advantages to our customers in terms of quality of travel and service on board the planes of the two companies and on the most prestigious alliance network in the world to which they are affiliates, in this case oneworld”.

Royal Air Maroc will now be the only company to operate a direct line between Casablanca and Doha, supported by a code-sharing agreement with shared passenger and freight capacity with Qatar Airways, thus strengthening the strategic cooperation signed in 2015 between the two operators.

This partnership will now make it possible to offer many more advantages to the customers of the two oneworld member airlines thanks to the optimized connections of their respective networks between the African and Asian continents.

This connection will allow Royal Air Maroc to fully play its role of transporting supporters of the national football team to facilitate their travel, as well as fans of this sport in Africa, during the 22nd edition of the World Cup which is will take place in Qatar from November 20 to December 18.
