The Galaxy A54 shows itself for the first time in a series of high definition images. Samsung seems to have taken great care in the design of the successor to its A53.
The Galaxy A53 is one of Samsung’s most popular smartphones today. It is therefore not surprising that the Korean manufacturer is preparing its successor. Today, leaker Steve Hemmerstoffer aka OnLeaks shares the first images of the Galaxy A54.
“New” design for the Samsung Galaxy A54
The “one-piece” design of the Galaxy A53 caught our eye. Its camera unit perfectly integrated with the rest of the device gives it a unique visual identity. If we believe the first images of the A54, Samsung would have chosen to bring the codes of its high-end smartphones, such as the Galaxy S22 Ultra to its mid-range and entry-level models. A new design that would also benefit the Galaxy A14.
Indeed, the camera block is no longer really a block, but a succession of modules perfectly aligned one below the other. They are three in number, suggesting the presence of a wide-angle module, an ultra-wide-angle and a macro. Samsung would have decided to give up the most useless camera module on its Galaxy A.
Let’s talk a bit about the screen. The latter would be flat, with a diagonal of 6.4 inches, a Full HD + definition and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. AMOLED technology will obviously be part of it for infinite contrast. We also note on the renderings a fairly wide black outline around the screen. Unfortunately, the bottom border looks thicker than the others. In terms of dimensions, the Galaxy A54 would be 158.3 x 76.7 x 8.2 mm.
A more muscular technical sheet
Previous rumors reported a configuration of 50 Mpx for the wide-angle module, 12 Mpx for the ultra-wide-angle and 5 Mpx for the macro. The selfie camera is expected with a definition of 32 Mpx. According to the images, it would be integrated in the form of a punch on the slab.
Like the A53, the A54 should have a 5000 mAh battery. As for fast charging, there is little chance that Samsung will go beyond 25W wired, but we are not immune to a good surprise on this point.
On the same subject : The Samsung Galaxy A14, A34 and A54 are already talking about them
The biggest unknown in the equation is undoubtedly the chip that will equip the Samsung Galaxy A54. The Exynos 7904 is mentioned, but the Korean brand could also trust MediaTek and its Dimensity 700. All accompanied by 6 GB of RAM to ensure a smooth multitasking experience. The Galaxy A53 unfortunately lacked power and this was sometimes felt at the level of the OneUI interface which was not always very reactive… Let’s hope that Samsung makes efforts on this point.
No information has been shared on pricing, but the expected release date of the Galaxy A54 is said to be around February 2023.
