Snapdragon 782G: not yet presented by Qualcomm, the chip is hidden in the Honor 80

The pace of announcements does not weaken at Honor, whose 70 series made its debut at the start of the school year in France, a few months after its release in China. It is in the Middle Kingdom that the brand will present from November 23 the range that will succeed it, stamped Honor 80. If we can doubt its launch in Europe, so soon after the Honor 70the event deserves attention.

Honor is indeed starting to talk about the presentation of its terminals on its social networks. On Weibo, the firm multiplies the visuals allowing to get an idea of the design of the devices. It is therefore necessary to count, for at least one of them, on a back streaked with waves and sporting a photo block composed of two elements that are no longer circular, as was the case on the Honor 50, 60 and 70, but oblong and forming an 8.

If Honor does not detail their content, it is more talkative about the chip that will animate its smartphones. The most advanced of the 80 series, stamped Pro, will be based on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, while the “standard” model will be animated, as noted by our colleagues from GSMArena, by a certain Snapdragon 782G. The chip is currently unknown to the battalion and it’s a safe bet that Qualcomm will present it this week during its Snapdragon Summit, scheduled for November 15 to 17. It was also on this occasion that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2his chipsets the most upscale, will be made official.

A folding smartphone in ambush

But that’s not all, since the review of Honor’s Weibo account contains several other pieces of information. First of all, Honor is planning a redesign of its MagicUI interface, which will take the name of MagicOS; the novelties it brings remain to be specified. And this interface will not only animate the Honor 80 series, since the manufacturer mentions the presentation, alongside its smartphones, of a new folding model called Magic Vs, and succeeding the Magic V discovered earlier this year. If its characteristics remain to be specified, we can expect it to take over some of the characteristics of its predecessor, such as its 7.9-inch Oled screen.
