We did not really doubt the ability to Splatoon 3 to establish itself as the back-to-school hit, but Nintendo’s license has once again proven that it is a small phenomenon not to be overlooked. This third episode was eagerly awaited since it comes five years later Splatoon 2and the least we can say is that its launch is successful, without even having to wait for figures from around the world.
One of Nintendo’s strongest licenses
Nintendo can be satisfied with the sales figures of Splatoon 3 in Japan to already pop the champagne. The manufacturer has indicated that the game has sold 3.45 million copies in Japan alone. This result includes physical and dematerialized sales of the game, and this in just three days of marketing. This is the best launch for a Switch game in this territory, exceeding for example Pokemon Legends Arceus.
The world results are still unknown, but no doubt they should also be up to par. If the title manages to be as popular and to sell over time, it may be able to make its way to the famous top 10 Switch salesbut there is still a long way to go.
