The Super Cup to be played on Saturday between RS Berkane and Wydad Casablanca reflects the high level of the national football championship, RSB coach Abdelhak Benchikha said Friday in Rabat.
Speaking at a pre-match press conference, Benchikha stressed that “the Super Cup match will be played between two top Moroccan teams”, adding that “the two clubs know each other well clashed several times.
“RS Berkane prepared their match well because they know the weight of the opposing team”, he said, believing that “winning the Super Cup title is important, especially on a moral level, because it is likely to boost RS Berkane players to national championship level.
“We have put everything in place to achieve a good result in this match which will be open,” he continued.
The Senegalese player Issoufou Dayo meanwhile said that “the group worked throughout the week to put all the chances on their side to win the title”.
The central defender noted that the RSB will face one of the best Moroccan teams, adding that the players are determined to put on a good performance to satisfy the team’s fans.
The Super Cup will oppose, Saturday at 8:00 p.m., Wydad Casablanca, winner of the CAF Champions League, against RS Berkane, winner of the African Confederation Cup.
