Last week, Apple presented its new iPhone 14 range during a well-attended and commented keynote. Whereas pre-orders are already open, the first deliveries will take place this Friday. But already, some lucky ones have had access to these new devices and are starting to give them a battery of tests.

A noticeable difference between the iPhone 14 Pro and the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra
We compared the performance of the iPhone 14 Pro with that of the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra. The Geekbench 5 platform was used to do this and we can therefore have quite enlightening initial results. As a reminder, the iPhone 14 Pro has an A 16 processor, while the Galaxy S22 Ultra is equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon chip.
The iPhone 14 Pro would thus have obtained a score of 4831. This figure does not tell us much, but if we compare it to the 3433 obtained by its rival from Samsung, it gives a better idea of the difference. It would indeed be 40% faster.
As our colleagues on the site rightly noted Cultofmac, it also seems interesting to compare the performance of the iPhone 14 Pro with that of the iPhone 13 Pro. And there, surprise, the old phone got a score of 4659. This means that the 14 Pro is 4% faster than its predecessor.
How to explain such a small difference? Apple had to use a processor manufactured with the 5 nm process, the same used the previous year, which limits the improvements. The most efficient chips today are produced in 3nm.
