We were treated to an opening ceremony worthy of the name. Between Moroccan cultural heritage, tribute to the Lions of the Altlas, to the legend Pelé and to the symbol of the city of Tangier Ibn Battouta, the show ticked all the boxes to reach Moroccan and global audiences.

The Ibn Battouta stadium in Tangier lived up to its name tonight. The opening ceremony was grandiose, a concentrate of national pride for Moroccans in general and for Tangiers in particular.

Beginning with a beautiful tribute to the famous Tangier explorer Ibn Battouta, under the proud cheers of the Tangier public, the opening ceremony paid tribute to the Atlas Lions for their magnificent journey in the World Cup in Qatar.

After a beautiful dance show representing the cultural multiplicity of Morocco and a great performance by rapper Dizzy Dros, the appearance of the national coach under the public’s “Siiir Siir” caused a sensation.

The ceremony continued with a special tribute to Pelé, the legend of international football who left us a few weeks ago, before presenting the 7 teams participating in this edition of the Club World Cup.
