The overall average lending rate fell by 5 bps to 4.24% in Q3-2022

According to figures from Bank Al Maghrib, all lending rates applied by banks increased slightly in Q3-2022 except for those of equipment loans which posted a decline of 42 bps.

According to figures from Bank Al Maghrib, all lending rates applied by banks increased slightly in Q3-2022 except for those of equipment loans which posted a decline of 42 bps.

The lending rates applied by the banks show a slight decrease in the third quarter of 2022. This is what emerges from the Bank Al-Maghrib quarterly survey on lending rates.

In the 3rd quarter of 2022, the global average lending rate averaged 4.24%, down 5 bps compared to the previous quarter (4.29%), thus following the downward trend observed over the past four years.

By business purposecash facility rates increased from 3.92% in the second quarter of 2022 to 3.97% in the third quarter.

Equipment loans fell by 42 bps to stand at 4.14% against 4.56%. For its part, the mortgage rate rose slightly by 4 bps, standing at 4.69% against 4.65% in the previous quarter.

Consumer loans saw their rate increase from 6.32% in Q2 to 6.39% in Q3.

By institutional sectorthe rate applied to loans to individuals stood at 5.33% compared to 5.14% in Q2, and that of loans to non-financial companies at 4.04% stable compared to the previous quarter.

For loans to private non-financial companies, the rate matching them stood at 4.12% (up 7 bps), with a rate of 3.87% for large companies (LE) and 4.94 % for very small, small and medium-sized enterprises (TPME)
