The 2e day of the group stage of the CHAN 2022 continues this Thursday with Pool C on the program.
In this particular group due to Morocco’s withdrawal, an enticing Ghana-Sudan will be to follow in the evening in Constantine. Returning to CHAN for the first time since 2014, the Black Galaxies completely missed their Sunday reunion in bowing to Madagascar to everyone’s surprise (1-2). The luck of the Ghanaians, however, is that the Confederation of African Football (CAF) ratified the next day that this pool will offer good two tickets for the quarter-finals.
In other words, if they beat Sudan, Annor Walker’s men will retain all their chances of advancing to the next round. Still, the local selection of Sudan is renowned and very close to its A selection in terms of the workforce. The Nile Crocodiles only came to CHAN twice, but they did not make up the numbers, finishing 3rd in 2011 at home and then in 2018 in Morocco.

Ghana will therefore have to be wary and avoid a second defeat which would definitively seal its fate since the Black Galaxies will follow the last day on TV… Note that, as CAF has now endorsed Morocco’s withdrawal, Madagascar will not need to go on the lawn to honor the kick-off and record the withdrawal of his opponent, unlike Sudan on Sunday.
The program for Thursday, January 19:
8 p.m., Ghana-Sudan (Group C), Hamlaoui Stadium in Constantine
