Thomas Bangalter, former half of Daft Punk, makes his solo comeback

Thomas Bangalter, ex-member of Daft Punk, will unveil on April 7, 2023 “Mythologies”, a magnificent orchestral album.

The date of February 22, 2021 is forever marked in our minds. The separation of the most famous electro duo on the planet, Daft Punk, had aroused an anthology of reactions, each one sadder than the other. Since then, the two friends have continued to be discreet and to produce in their corner.

In 2021, a few months after the separation of Daft Punk, Thomas Bangalter, the prodigy with multiple hats of composer, DJ, director and boss of the label Roulé, had received commissioned by the great French choreographer Angelin Preljocaj. The latter wanted the former robot to make the soundtrack for the ballet Mythologiescreated by the Opéra national de Bordeaux and the Ballet Preljocaj.

After having composed the original soundtracks of the films Irreversible and Enter The Voidand participated in those of Climax by Gaspar Noé,In body by Cédric Klapisch and the series Irma Vep broadcast on HBO, Thomas Bangalter accepted the challenge of constructing the symphonic voice of a ballet. Mythologies traveled from theater to theater during the year 2022, and to celebrate these timeless moments, Thomas Bangalter made an album of it. This orchestral project of 23 titles, which bears the same name as the ballet, will see the light of day on April 7, 2023.
