Samsung Galaxy S23 and S23+

It is this Wednesday, February 1, during his traditional conference Unpacked, that Samsung unveiled its new generation of Samsung Galaxy. As every year, the complete range offers three models.

The Samsung Galaxy S23 is the most affordable of the three smartphones announced, although it has seen its price soar by 100 euros compared to last year. It is thus displayed at starting price of 959 € in its 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage variant and 1019 euros in its 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage version.

In terms of design, the Galaxy S23 is very close to the S22. It turns out a tiny bit larger with dimensions of 146.3 x 70.8 x 7.6 mm. Only the photo block has been modified since this time the 3 lenses stand out independently. Regarding its technical sheet, the Galaxy S23 finds a 6.1-inch FHD+ 2400 x 1080 pixel screen. It is a slab Dynamic AMOLED 2X HDR10+ compatible which offers a refresh rate up to 120Hz.

For performance, we will take advantage of the latest SoC from Qualcomm, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. This processor should offer improved GPU performance as well as better battery life and better heat management. Finally, in terms of connectivity, we will find 5G and Wi-Fi 6E.

Autonomy looks better with a battery of one 3900 mAh capacity. On the other hand, the fast charge still does not evolve and remains at 25 W. For the photo, we will have to be satisfied with the module of last year with a wide angle of 50 megapixels, an ultra wide angle of 12 megapixels and a telephoto lens. 3x of 10 megapixels.

Let’s continue with the Samsung Galaxy S23+. For the price, this model is offered at launch at 1219 euros for 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage and 1339 euros for 8 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage

The Galaxy S23+ is technically close to the S23. The major difference is the screen since we pass here on a 6.6 inch panel. Autonomy is also a notch above with a battery of 4700mAh and fast charging at 45 watts. For the rest, the technical sheets of the S23+ and the S23 remain similar.

Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra

We end with the top-of-the-range model, the Galaxy S23 Ultra which truly offers what Samsung knows how to do best in the world of smartphones. The S23 Ultra is available in 3 variants. The 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage version is at an introductory price of 1419 euros. The 12 GB RAM and 512 GB storage version is priced at 1599 euros. Finally, the most expensive version of this year, with 12 GB of RAM and 1 TB of storage is at 1839 euros.

Like the S22 Ultra, this model retains its integrated stylus. It sports a large curved screen of 6.8 inches with a WQHD+ definition of 3088 x 1440 pixels and a variable refresh rate between 1 and 120Hz.

For the photo part, Samsung has pulled out all the stops with the arrival of a 200 megapixel main sensor. It is an ISOCELL HP2 sensor, 1/1.3 inch in size. The Night Vision mode of the S23 Ultra has been significantly improved on this generation. For the rest, we find the sensors of the previous generation: an ultra wide angle of 12 MP, a 10 MP X10 optical zoom telephoto lens, a 10 MP X3 optical zoom. The battery has not changed either since we remain on a capacity of 5000 mAh. On the other hand, the new, less energy-consuming chip and the addition of a new power saving mode will save a few hours of use.
