World Bank: The global economic slowdown will continue in 2023-2024

The global economic downturn will be seen in 2023-2024, World Bank President David Malpass said in an interview with Britain’s Sky News on Sunday.

“It’s a prolonged downturn. It’s not quite the cycle we were used to in the past.

This is linked to the persistence of inflation and the lack of new investments. It is difficult to expect a strong recovery in the global economy over the next two years,” he said. In this context, Mr. Malpass underlined the importance of building a sound economic policy for the States which were forced to reduce their expenditure.
