Wydad in the Top 50 best clubs in the world

In the world ranking of the best clubs in 2022, Wydad made a sensational entry into the Top 50, after finishing 60th the previous year.

The IFFHS, International Federation of Football History and Statistics, has unveiled its ranking of the best clubs in the world and only six African clubs are in the Top 100.

Thus, the Wydad of Casablanca, Champion of Morocco and Africa in title, is placed in 49th place, only exceeded by the Egyptian giant, Al Ahly of Cairo, who finds himself 17th. The Zamalek, another behemoth of the country of the Pharaohs, is in 63rd position.

Nationally, Raja Casablanca is 131st, RS Berkane 138th, AS FAR 255th and FUS 420th.

Since 2016, at least one Moroccan club has played a continental final each year, whether in the Champions League or the CAF Cup.

At world level, the Brazilians of Flamengo, possible opponents of Wydad in the semi-finals of the Club World Cup, are at the top of the classification. They are followed by their compatriots from Palmeiras and the English from Liverpool.

Chelsea (4th), Manchester City (5th), Real Madrid (6th), Benfica (7th), Porto (8th), Leipzig (9th) and PSV Eindhoven (10th) complete the Top 10.
