The CAF Superleague project is taking shape. It would start next August. Currently CAF commissions carry out inspections of potentially eligible clubs.
After Wydad, CAF visited Egyptian club Al Ahly.
Leaked information suggests that the first edition will be played with only 8 clubs in knockout matches and not in the form of a championship as previously announced.
It is a multinational which will sponsor the competition taking care of all the financial aspects. CAF will only take care of the organization.
Apparently, in the first edition, a country will only be represented by one club. Egypt will be represented by Al Ahly, Morocco by Wydad.
The information remains to be confirmed by CAF.
